Expectation

It hurts when you want something but you don’t get it, it hurts the same way when you expect something but it doesn’t happen. Sometimes we expect too much and when our expectations fail, it hurts us.
Expectations are unlimited; once one is fulfilled you seek for another to be fulfilled, were never satisfied and that is the reason most of us end up disappointed. I believe your only need is shelter and food everything else is a want and that leads to expectation.
We all want to live a perfect life, there’s a lot of things that we want but we have to work for it, it won’t just come to us. We need to work for anything we want to gain, achieve. We basically expect from our loved ones; our parents, our children, our friends, spouse because we care about them and we want the best for them.

Hey!! THis is a nice blog concerning the crucial aspects of setting expectations and being disappointed when those expectations aren’t met. I agree that many individuals will choose the path of least resistance and easier, more perfect way of life. However, from what I have read in “Honeymoon in Purdah” this is more prevalent in the Western Culture and is not embedded in the Iranian culture for example. Good Job!!!

Nice blog, I agree with the odea that sometimes our expectations can lead to disapointment. This idea applies very well to travel as it does to almost anything else. Usually people always expect great things out of travelling to an exotic or foreign place, but when faced with a something that they did not account for it throws them into a complete state of imbalance. Probably the best to overcome this negative of expectations is to have none at all, but then again if we do not expect anything for something why should it interest us?

I’m glad your commenters took your idea and applied it to aspects of H in P and of traveling! Your post reminds me of the Buddhist principle that all our suffering comes from our desires and expectations – if we could just be happy with the things that we have, no matter what they are, and enjoy our experiences without expecting them to be different, we would never suffer in life!
